The Root
Our story does not begin with us. It begins with the town: centuries of cutters, drillers and polishers whose knowledge of stone was handed down at the workbench, not written down.

Generations in Stone
Natural gemstone bracelets from a fourth-generation house, refined for the world.
For centuries, the coastal town of Khambhat shaped the world's most precious minerals. Today, Maison Cambay continues this lineage, applying fourth-generation mastery to natural, unenhanced stones. We do not manufacture; we refine what the earth has provided.

Every piece is composed of strictly natural stones, calibrated to a precise 8mm rounded geometry. We reject artificial enhancements, honoring the authentic grain, weight, and temperature of the raw mineral.
Heritage · Khambhat, historically Cambay
Khambhat, known to the world as Cambay, was once the paramount centre of the gemstone trade. Merchant ships carried its cut agate, carnelian and quartz to the courts of Europe and the Middle East. Maison Cambay is born from this exact soil.
Bead-makers of the Indus age work carnelian and agate from the country around the Gulf of Khambhat, drilling each stone by hand for markets as far away as Mesopotamia.
Marco Polo passes along this coast and writes of Cambaet and its busy trade: a name already known to merchants from Venice to Canton.
Cambay is among the great ports of its age. Its beads travel to Aden and Hormuz, to Malacca and the Swahili coast, and on to Europe.
The harbour has silted and the great ships are gone, but Khambhat still cuts stone. Our house works on, now in its fourth generation.
Our story does not begin with us. It begins with the town: centuries of cutters, drillers and polishers whose knowledge of stone was handed down at the workbench, not written down.
We are a fourth-generation house. The hands that inspect, select and string our stones belong to a lineage of artisans who understand mineral density and light refraction instinctively. This is not assembled jewellery; it is generational knowledge made wearable.
While our roots are deeply Indian, our presentation is decisively global. We bridge the historic artisanship of the East with the understated, editorial refinement of European luxury houses: export-grade quality for the discerning international collector.
“We do not manufacture; we refine what the earth has provided.”

Natural stones adapt to your body's temperature. Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid submerging in chemicals or saltwater to preserve the organic polish.
The modern gemstone market is flooded with resin-injected, heat-treated and dyed material. Maison Cambay operates on strict rejection of these practices. We source grade-A natural minerals and present them exactly as the earth formed them over millennia.
Rough is chosen by eye and by hand, for colour, for grain, and for the absence of fractures. Most of what is offered is turned away.
The rough is sawn into small blocks, each a little larger than the bead it will become.
Each block is ground round and calibrated to the 8mm sphere, so that every bead on a strand sits true against its neighbours.
A fine hole is drilled through the centre with microscopic precision, so tension and drape are perfectly balanced on the wrist.
Polished until the stone's own grain and light come through. Nothing is added to the surface; nothing is sealed in.
Beads are matched by hand for tone and pattern, then strung into a single bracelet and finished in Khambhat.
After extensive testing, we standardised our collections on the 8mm sphere. It offers substantial weight without bulk, so the bracelet sits easily alongside a timepiece or a tailored cuff.
A Maison Cambay piece is cold to the touch, heavy on the wrist, and entirely authentic.
No machine decides which beads belong together. Each strand is laid out, matched and strung at the bench, one bead at a time, then checked again before it leaves Khambhat.
